Roofing Competitor Talkin Smack
I saw this Yelp review where someone was unhappy with my roofing contractor competitor and he tried to use it to dog me. Typical.

This Yelp review came to my attention the other day -
Yelp Review 1.0 star rating 3/12/2014
There appears to be a 5 star company, Roof Doctor and this company, Roof DoctorS.
I am also a seller who's buyer chose to go with the "free" inspection. The guy that came out was very nice and seemed professional.
When he left he said everything looked good, typical of a tile roof. He said the tops of the eaves would need paint in the future, not now. Then the report came back. Yes, you guessed it - 7 broken tiles, 6 unrepairable! Also under repairs: he stated "needs to install flashings to protect top edges where rake tiles end". This is exactly what he said would need to be touched up with paint "sometime in the future".
They also want $250 for a 2 year roof warranty. The top of their report says my roof has a 40 year remaining life!
These guys have a real racket going -- 1) Copy the name of a legit company. 2) Offer a free inspection that home buyers are going to go for 3) make up a bunch of fake charges that the seller is essentially forced to pay. Needless to say, my roof is being re-inspected by a company my realtor is familiar with. It will be interesting to see how recently my tiles were broken.

This Reviewer has compared our company "Roof Doctors" to another company named "Roof Doctor" who operates out of Stockton California. Our Company had its name "Roof Doctors" in 1987, and it is our belief and understanding that "Roof Doctor" out of Stockton formed his entity after 1987.
It is obvious that this Reviewer is ignorant of the many differences between the two companies
. Let me share a few - our company, Roof Doctors, has inspected over 50,000 roofs in Northern California (12 counties) in 3 1/2 years, we provide service within 24-48 hours, we provide FREE roof inspections, we have 8 full-time inspectors / estimators and 10 full-time repair crews, and we never turn customers away for any reason, regardless of how busy it may ever get.
Whereas, Roof Doctor, in Stockton, admits on his own website, that he inspects every single roof all by himself in 10 counties, he is involved in every single repair covering 10 counties, he charges up to $100 or more for his roof inspection, and that he has to turn customers away when it gets busy.
This Reviewer owes an explanation to all of the readers of this review as to how a company like Roof Doctor in Stockton is a "5-star company" when they are apparently understaffed, they inspect and repair a fraction of the roofs that we do, they rely on the roof inspection fee as a primary source of income, and they have to turn business away when it gets busy.
Really ?!?! Seriously ?!?! How is that a "5-star company" ? Please do explain to me and all of the readers of this review how that is possible ? We are waiting for your response ?

I can give you my response as to how we are a 5 star company.
When referring to a 5 star rating, customers rate the company based on quality, using the 1 through 5 star system as on Yelp.
When excellent service is provided at a high enough ratio compared to the number of people served, mathematics determines the rating number to be 5 (or in your case enough poor service for 2.5).
So if only 1 customer is served and it is a 5 star rating, the company is rated 5 star – so you really can’t tell until a company gets 3 to 5 or so reviews but after that the system works very well.
It has nothing to do with how many thousands of customers were served, it is the quality of that service that is being rated. The public has determined this to be the most important and I happen to agree.
We are not understaffed. That is when you cannot perform the work you have taken on. Every business should be in control of how much work they want to do. Anyone can hire more people, it depends on your philosophy, I would never wish to serve that many customers in a year because I like it when they get good service.
And I don’t mean showing up and getting the deal closed. I mean giving them what is actually best for them.
You have taken it down now but you said before over 12,000 inpections per year ?) On a 5 day work week that’s 50 a day – hmmm Ok I guess I can see why you seem to have trouble with your ratings, if you are serving as many as you say and still have a 2.5 rating…that is a TON of unhappy people!
I could never do that.
I noticed you have taken quite a lot of content off of your website that I pointed out…good it makes much more sense now since so much of it was BS.
Anyway, that is why we are a 5 star company – quality of service.

Garcinia Cambogia Rip Off
These guys are the worst –
They sent me a fraud email posing as my wife to lure me in - charged me double what they said (below), then when I realized I had been tricked and tried to cancel the order Then after 1 hr. on the phone, hung up on 3 times they would not cancel it.
Above - they sent an email posing as my wife -
Below, they hacked my Facebook and Pintrest accounts and posted as me!
And of course, everyone you talk to says something like "oh we don't do that sort of thing, that has nothing to do with us!"
But what about the hundreds if complaints? Are they all making it up?
Guess what? Yes it does. Who is benefiting from it? – You should have cancelled my account when I asked you to. I am going to see what I can do about costing you more than you made from me.
These people are a nightmare!

Let Free..Dumb Ring?
How many times have you accepted a "free offer" or downloaded a "free" program on the internet only to have your computer instantly inundated with unwanted pop ups, spyware and other unwanted information or even a virus? That wasn't exactly free was it? Usually the cost is much greater than if you had just paid for the thing to start with right?

Journeymen Roofers Declared Incompetent
Journeymen Declared Incompetent
How could anyone in possession of a real contractor's license be this ignorant? It's scary.
As of 05/09/12 this text is published on a professional roofing
contractor's website. I reprint it here in hopes that someone can possibly
point out to me what on earth this individual might be "thinking".
"Roof
Reports and Roof Repair Estimates are usually issued on the same day of the
inspection. Our repairs are performed only by license-quality
repairmen, and not by minimum-wage
journeymen, who claim to be experts, but in reality have
little or no roofing experience. "
Now wait a minute.
First of all there is no such thing as a ""license-quality
repairman" this is just one more shell in the shell game. On another of their advertisements the say
they are describing the benefit of having "licensed or license quality
repairmen" on the job. Well are
they licensed or not? And if not (and I'm quite certain they are not) since
the first one is a made up term what does that leave you with?
And has anyone EVER seen a"minimum wage journeyman"? I can say with complete certainty that you
haven't, because there is no such thing. There never has been and never will be, since
minimum wage and journeyman are at opposite ends of the trades food chain. It's like saying
"that white piece of black paper."
Quite obviously anyone with even the slightest actual trade
experience knows that it is not possible to be a journeyman with little or no
experience in the trade, since
journeyman means that you
have achieved the highest level of trade experience possible. As a matter of fact, to be a real journeyman
one is actually required to have completed a much higher level of training than
that required of a contractor.
How could anyone in possession of a real contractor's license be this ignorant? It's scary.
This individual's verbal shell game seems to know no
bounds.
What is a journeyman?
Journeyman Roofer, as defined by CSLB:
A journeyman is a person who has completed an apprenticeship
program or is an experienced worker, not a trainee, and is fully qualified and
able to perform a specific trade without supervision. But, that person
does not have a license and is
not able to contract for jobs that value more than $500 in labor and materials.
Hmmm. That really sounds like a repairman that is
good enough to be licensed but isn't.
I wonder why the powers that be don't just call them license quality repairmen? (Not really, I realize that would be stupid).
I wonder why the powers that be don't just call them license quality repairmen? (Not really, I realize that would be stupid).
Or Wikipedia:
In the United States, employment in the building trades, such as
an electrician or plumber or carpenter, usually requires that a person holds a
state or local (city or county) license as a journeyman
or master.
The journeyman license certifies that the craftsman has met the
requirements of time in the field (usually
a minimum of 8000 hours) and
time in an approved classroom setting (usually 700 hours).
A journeyman has the responsibility of supervising workers
of lesser experience and training them, in addition to having the
qualifications (knowledge and skills) to work unsupervised himself.
A journeyman is commonly expected to have a wide range of
experience, covering most fields of his trade. For example, a non journeyman worker of some 20 or 30 years experience may
have most or all of his
experience in only residential, commercial or
industrial applications. A
journeyman however, has a broad field of experience in residential, commercial,
and industrial applications.
Wow, again that sounds like a craftsman that is good enough
trade wise to be licensed but isn't.
So apparently, according to the definitions accepted
by the entire rest of the world (with the exception of the wisdom in blue
above) it is actually requires a broader range of actual trades experience to
be a journeyman than it does to be a contractor. The main difference being that
a contractor has an actual license that can be held accountable in the event of
a problem.
